Every Neighbourhood Needs A Community Cat
Moving into a new neighborhood can be quite nerve-wracking, but if you have a neighbor that brings you flowers every morning, there’s really nothing to worry about.
In one neighborhood in the United Kingdom lives a cat named Willow. She’s a friendly neighborhood cat that loves to spend time with her neighbors by sleeping at their houses. So when Rosie, a new neighbor, moved into the neighborhood, Willow didn’t pass up the chance to sleep at Rosie’s new home.
Unaware of Willow’s friendly intentions, Rosie was shocked to see the cat sound asleep at her hallway. The whole neighborhood knew Willow’s drill. She would come up to their houses, meow incessantly and would only stop when they opened their glass doors and let her in. Some neighbors would even leave cat food or treats in their houses just for Willow.
When spring came, Rosie noticed pink flowers all over her garden. She initially thought that the wind had blown them in. But the amount and frequency of the flowers landing in her garden started getting pretty peculiar. Thankfully, one of Rosie’s housemates cleared up the whole pink flowers situation – it was Willow.
Rosie’s housemate saw Willow visiting their deck with a flower in her mouth. She would pick the pink flowers from her owner’s house and bring them to Rosie’s. Seeing a cat bringing a human a gift other than dead animals is pretty extraordinary. It also made Rosie’s house look a lot more romantic, with pink flowers strewn all over the ground.
Adjusting to a new neighborhood can be hard, but when you and your neighbors take turns in taking care of such an adorable, sweet and thoughtful cat like Willow, it’s easier to feel welcome and at home.
